Angra is the largest city on the island. It has a population of roughly 10,000-15,000. According to the tourist office, it is listed as a World Heritage Site; meaning, the city has played an important part in European expansion. It proved to be an important part of the global route which helped establish a global economy. Angra offers much in the way of leisure and entertainment. These include: a bullring for bullfights, a soccer arena, several shops, and several restaurants, etc. The hospital where Kate was born is located here. It's roughly 16 miles southwest from the Air Base.
